An apology.
I don’t know if you will ever read this, but I am sorry. I am sorry for giving your hopes up. I am sorry that maybe I wasn’t patient enough to take the time. Or maybe neither of us were quite ready. And I am so, so, sorry for making you wait all of those times. Times that could of been had, but never were. The never “were”s and never “was”s, that’s what makes me the saddest of all. Lingering shadows and beacons of light scattered across my path of space and time. Could I have held your hand many more times? Would there have been many seemingly endless, but wonderful embraces? The love could have blossomed, but it seems to remain a bud in a timeless world. But does time really stand still? Some things do, I believe. However, time waits for no one. Will there ever be another chance? Will there ever be.
